1. What OriginProof does

OriginProof organizes the origin information you, the Merchant, supply into a single, dated record — the Substantiation File — and renders a storefront badge and a public proof page that link to it. In plain terms, here is exactly what the Service does:

2. What OriginProof does NOT do

Just as importantly, here is what the Service does not do. It:

In short: OriginProof is an organizing tool. It turns the information you supply into a tidy, dated file. The substance of that information — and whether any resulting claim is truthful and lawful — remains entirely with you.

3. Not a law firm; no legal advice

OriginProof is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Nothing in the Service or in any Substantiation File is legal advice, and no attorney-client relationship is created by its use. If you need legal advice about your "Made in USA" or other origin claim, consult a qualified attorney.

4. No law applied to your facts; no determination of qualification

OriginProof does not apply the FTC standard or any other law to the facts in your file and expresses no opinion on how any law applies to them. OriginProof does not determine or guarantee whether your product qualifies for a "Made in USA" claim or any other origin claim. No pass/fail result, score, or threshold finding is expressed anywhere in the Service or in the Substantiation File. Any reference to the FTC standard or its U.S.-content threshold is provided for general explanation only and is not a determination that your product meets that standard.

5. Merchant solely responsible; FTC governs lawfulness

You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for the truthfulness and substantiation of any claim you make. Whether an origin claim is lawful is governed by the FTC standard and related law; that question is outside the Service and rests with you. The Substantiation File does not, on its own, establish a reasonable basis for any claim, and it is not a guarantee, certification, or assurance of any outcome. It is one dated record of your own inputs as of its generation date — nothing more.

6. The badge and public proof page

The storefront badge is labeled "U.S. Origin Evidence on File" with the subtext "Merchant-attested — view evidence." The badge and the public proof page state only that U.S.-origin evidence is on file and is Merchant-attested. They are not a statement by us that the underlying claim is true or lawful, and they are not our verification, certification, or endorsement of your claim or your product. The public proof page omits supplier and attestor names and cost figures; those details are kept in the Merchant's downloadable file, not published on the page.
